  • What time/season is farm stand open ? Opening Memorial Day weekend Friday May 26 through the day before Thanksgiving. Normally, in season, It's open everyday but Tuesday and open from 9 am to 5 pm. However in November the farm stand closes at 4pm as it gets dark much earlier.  **Upick closes at 4:30pm, unless stated otherwise or early closure due to weather.
  • Where is apple orchard? It's located on Fresh Pond Avenue in Calverton /Baiting Hollow. When turning off of Sound Avenue, main large orchard is about half a mile down the road on left and generally open on weekends and holidays. We now also have a new, smaller orchard on north end of Fresh Pond, closer to Sound Ave that opens on weekdays (excluding Tuesdays, and weather and crop permitting). During busy season we require a minimum purchase fee at entrance. This is not a separate admission fee, it goes towards your total purchase of apples. $8 minimum for customers 10 and over and $5 for ages 5-9. kids under 5 no minimum purchase. You receive a voucher/ticket with total you paid at entering which is then deducted from total purchase price when checking out. All apples are priced at $1.75 in U-Pick fields (for 2017 season). **Update: from now to end of season, there is no minimum purchase in fields. Just pay per pound whatever you pick in field**
  • What time do U-Pick fields open? Customers must call each day for a recording of what's open that particular day. Everything varies by weather and availability. Generally, when open, fields are open 9 am to 430 pm. ** Christmas Tree field closes at 4pm, You must come earlier to cut your own. Sometimes due to weather conditions or crop availability a particular U-Pick field may open later, so call to hear the times each day.
  • Where is Raspberry and Blueberry field? It is approximately 1/4 mile east of the farm stand on south side of Sound Avenue. Head in parking is available along the fence.
  • Where is corn maze? Located next to the farm stand. Corn maze hours generally open 10am to 430 pm on weekends and holidays starting in early September and continuing through late October.
  • Is it a new design each year or the same? It is new and designed by us each year. No maze is ever the same so each experience is fun and new. (Check Maze page for more details).
  • Do you sell your own roasted corn and baked potatoes? Yes , we roast our own sweet corn on weekends at the farm stand usually starting by late July and going through late October.  Our own potatoes start in August and go through late October.
  • Where is the Pumpkin Field located? On sound avenue for 2017. 1 large field this year, 1/2 mile east of farm stand. Also has squash/gourds.  For corn stalks and straw bales go to farmstand.
  • Do the crops rotate/move from year to year? Yes. While orchards (peaches/apples) stay in same place year to year most crops do move to different fields from the previous year in order to optimize soil and produce health. Each fruit/vegetable utilizes different nutrients in the soil so rotating is essential. This can make finding some particular U Pick fields confusing but we always post directions for the different fields at the front entrance of the farm stand.
  • What crops do you grow? It's almost too many to name and they all have their own seasons when they are available. We grow : numerous varieties of apples, pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, strawberries, winter squash , summer squash, potatoes, gourds, sweet corn, field corn for corn stalks, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, watermelon, sugar babies, red and black raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries, currants, peaches, nectarines, Christmas trees and more.
  • Do you allow pets? Sorry, but for health and safety reasons there are no pets allowed in the store (farm stand) or U-Pick Fields. Essential/documented service dogs only please.
  • How many acres is the farm?  Total around 1100 acres. Parts of the farm are in Calverton, Wading River and Baiting hollow areas. We post directions for different u-pick fields at the farm stand.
  • Do you sell other local produce? Yes. We source local lettuce, beets, greens and more to offer in our farm stand to ensure the freshest quality from local farms on things we don't grow right here!
  • When are U-Cut Trees opening? Most likely Day after Thanksgiving 2017, weather dependent.
  • What time does the Christmas Tree Field close? The field closes at 4pm. However more time is needed if you want to cut your own. Please come as early as you can to allow yourself ample time. We suggest no later than 3pm. We also have pre-cut trees for people arriving late or who don't want to do the work of cutting their own. See link to the Christmas tree page for more info.
  • Where is the Christmas Tree farm located? The Tree Farm is located on Fresh Pond Avenue in Calverton / Baiting Hollow. Same general area as the apple orchard. On busy weekends there are two entrances open.
  • How much are your cut and "live"/balled trees? All cut trees, whether you cut it yourself or if it's a pre-cut tree, are $40. That low price includes tax and wrapping. That is for ANY size and ANY type from 1 foot tall to 15 plus feet tall. So please don't cut or take any baby trees or tops of trees. We also provide free twine to tie the tree onto your car with. Customers are responsible for securing the trees to their cars. We also provide balled / "live" trees that can be replanted. All live/balled trees are $55. (Prices current for the 2016 season)
  • Do you provide customers with trailer rides in the Christmas Trees? Yes. We do offer free trailer rides out to the trees for cutting. When you cut one you can bring it out to the roads and wait for a tractor to come and bring you back as well. We advise to always stay with your tree and to be mindful that on busy weekend days there will be longer wait times for tractor service. Customers can also walk out to the field to cut one. 
  • Do you provide customers with saws and/or do you allow chain saws? We do provide bow saws to use and just require a $5 deposit for their use which is returned to you or taken off the price of the tree when you give it back. We also allow customers to bring their own saws, including chain saws (at their own risk). 
  • Where is strawberry field? The field s located aproximately 500 feet west of the farm stand, on the opposite (North) side of Sound Avenue. Picking days vary week to week depending on availability and weather, always call the day of. (finished for 2017 season)
